One of the things I wanted to address some time ago, and mentioned several times, has to do with the ultimate Tumblr device, That piece of hardware that I would use eight to ten hours a day to submit with.
Marco has brought this subject up several times, and generally, I have both reblogged his articles on the subject, and, commented that I was working on my response. So far, and this is the reason for the apology, I have not. It’s hard to put into words.
Let me say this: As of the moment, I am enthralled with Tumblr. As far as I’m concerned it does everything I could ask in terms of a service. I could do just about everything I would ever want to do creatively using Tumblr. 2
Back to that device. Currently I’m using a Gateway NX860-XL Multimedia Desktop Replacement. In some ways that is about three times the hardware I need for Tumblr. On the other-hand, an iPhone or an iTouch is about thirty percent of what I need. Somewhere in between lies the ultimate device. 3

2 Don’t get me wrong. I use two other services, Gather & Vox primarily, plus Facebook to a limited extent And I use Google, Google Talk, and gMail A Lot Not To Mention Google Chrome and Wikipedia et al. So a browser is imperative- Therefore an OS that will handle all this.
3 …The ultimate, at the moment would be two reasonably sophisticated touch-screens. One as a monitor, The second as a keyboard. Wirelessly connected, tethered, probably hinged, as I use my laptop the old-fashioned way. On my lap. Go figure.
